Sixth Grade Hebrew Students Visit San Francisco Zoo

Students in sixth grade Hebrew visited the San Francisco Zoo just before Passover break. “The purpose of this trip was to provide students with a different learning experience,” explains teacher Mira Peretz. Students were tasked with identifying animals in Hebrew and then selecting animals from three animal classes—mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish—to describe in more detail (the animal’s color, shape, and diet).

“The students were very excited to see the animals and take their learning outside the classroom,” adds Ms. Peretz. “It is really meaningful for the students to connect Hebrew to their daily lives.” MORE PHOTOS
