8th Grade Lip Sync Video Challenge Wrap-Up! by Kate Glustein, Spanish Teacher

Our talented 8th graders have just completed an exciting and creative assignment: a lip sync video challenge! Each student was assigned a very popular Argentinian song to lip sync called “Corazón” (heart) giving them the perfect opportunity to showcase their creativity, confidence, and unique flair.  This engaging project turned out to be a highlight for the students, combining both fun and learning in a memorable way.

 

This lip sync challenge wasn’t just about entertainment—it also reinforced important academic skills. By memorizing lyrics, students practiced language acquisition techniques, building vocabulary and improving pronunciation. The rhythm and repetition of music provided an engaging way for students to tune their listening skills, enhancing both comprehension and pronunciation accuracy. Their team effort made homework bring an extra layer of enjoyment and connection to their work.

 

The videos are in, and they’re absolutely fantastic! Our 8th-grade advisor team joined forces to watch and vote on each submission, selecting those who excelled in memorization, interpretation, engagement, and creativity. From vibrant performances to inventive video setups, our 8th graders truly poured their hearts into each piece, delivering impressive results. Their passion for the challenge shines through in every clip, making these performances a new source of pride for our school community. We commend their hard work, originality, and enthusiasm in making this project a resounding success!
